Place Royale du Peyrou

Cathedrale Saint-Pierre
Having become a cathedral in 1536, when the archbishopric of Maguelone was transferred to Montpellier, Saint-Pierre was originally the chapel of a Benedictine monastery built in 1364.
Even today its southern Gothic architecture still impresses passers-by. You cannot miss its imposing porch resting on two enormous circular pillars measuring 4.55m.Get there 10 minutes by car and 21 minutes on foot from the apartment.
The Royal Garden
The Royal Garden of Montpellier was created in 1593, making it the oldest botanical garden in France. Attached to the Faculty of Medicine, this space, once entirely dedicated to research and teaching, continues to attract researchers from all over the world.
